Katie Broom steps up to Manager of Accounts at Tree

At Tree Accountancy, we’re always excited to celebrate team growth, especially when it’s driven by ambition, support and a willingness to take on new challenges. That’s why we’re proud to share that Katie Broom has been promoted to Manager of Accounts.

Katie joined Tree in November 2023, having previously worked at a small firm in Altrincham for seven years. With ACA qualification and a background in audit, she brought with her a wealth of experience, but also a desire for something more.

“I’d hit a ceiling in my last role. At Tree, I’ve found space to grow and the support to do it.”

As a Senior Accountant in the Growth Team, Katie quickly made her mark by supporting some of our largest clients. From preparing management accounts and VAT returns to tackling strategic, ad hoc projects, she thrived in a role that offered variety and challenge.

When the opportunity to lead the Accounts Team arose, Katie was encouraged by those around her to go for it.

“The idea of moving into leadership was initially daunting, but the team here is so supportive. They really wanted to see me succeed, and that gave me the confidence to take the leap.”

In her new role, Katie is now responsible for:

• Overseeing client relationships
• Planning and managing year-end accounts
• Reviewing work produced by the team
• Tracking deadlines and workflow
• Leading and developing two team members

“Helping people develop is something I’m really excited about. I’ve pushed myself throughout my career and now I get to help others do the same.”

“My one piece of advice for others looking to take on more responsibility in their roles would be: take the opportunities and push yourself. If you work hard, you get noticed – hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.”
